This journal entry is from Japan. My mother and father lived in the city of Sasebo, when my dad was stationed there after service in the Korean War. I was born in Sasebo in November, 1954. We moved to California about six weeks after my birth. My mother took a number of photographs shortly before we left, showing the beautiful and poignant scenes of the area. The Japan 1954 Travel Journal is dedicated to Mr. Greg Tyler who was Sasebo Bureau Chief for the Stars and Stripes . Greg was very knowledgeable about the Sasebo region, and provided kind and helpful feedback about this photo album. Please contact me if you have any questions or comments. I would be especially interested in any information that you may have about any of the photo subjects. Frank R. Farmer
