I have hiked in this wonderful park many times since the early 1970s. These trips have been in a variety of weather conditions, ranging from mild, foggy spring days; to blazing, parched summer heat; to lightly dusted snow; to drenching, El Nino winter storms.

This is a park where you can put in quite a few miles without backtracking. It covers a variety of climatic zones and plant communities, with elevations ranging from 400 to nearly 1,900 feet.
